What This Site Is
Gematria Codex is a calculator and a reference. You type a word and it returns that word's value in every cipher that applies to its alphabet, together with the arithmetic that produced each total. Nothing is hidden behind a summary number.
The design goal is auditability. Most gematria tools give you a figure and expect you to trust it. Here, every card opens to show which letter contributed what, and every value used is published in full on the reference charts, so you can verify any result against the table or recalculate it on paper.
Where the Values Come From
The Hebrew values are the standard ladder used across classical rabbinic literature: nine units, nine tens, four hundreds, with the four recognised methods (Hechrachi, Gadol, Siduri and Katan) shown separately rather than merged. The Greek values are the Milesian numerals, including digamma, qoppa and sampi, which held the 6, 90 and 900 positions after they had left ordinary writing.
The English ciphers are modern. They have no ancient pedigree and this site does not pretend otherwise. They are included because they are widely used and widely misquoted, and because showing seven of them side by side makes clear how much a single word's "value" depends on which cipher was chosen.
How the Calculations Run
Entirely in your browser. There is no server call, no account, no logging of what you type, and no analysis of your input. Once the page has loaded it works offline. That is a privacy decision as much as a speed one: people look up personal names, and none of that should leave the device.
What This Site Does Not Claim
Gematria is a technique for reading texts, and historically it was used for allusion, mnemonics and commentary. It is not a method of prediction, and nothing here should be read as a forecast, as advice, or as evidence about a person or an event. Numbers coincide often, especially in alphabets where letters are also digits, and the ancient authors who used the technique knew that perfectly well.
The arithmetic on this site is exact. The interpretations people build on top of that arithmetic are their own.
